In 1929 this country entered the great depression And did not come out of it until the 1941 the war era in other words America has totally benefited off wars and this global machine built itself for decades selling weapons and war technology.Since wars are fought different now we either got to get smarter or dumber to get out of this recession Because we are not the only scientifically advanced nation on earth
